The 29th Annual Emmy Awards (Primetime) originally aired Sunday, September 11th 1977.

Since 1949 The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has presented awards for exceptional performances, programming and developments in the field of television.

Actors David Soul and Kate Jackson were presenters in the category of Outstanding Continuing Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Kristy McNichol was nominated and won for her work on the series Family. Her fellow nominees in this category were Lee Meriwether for Barnaby Jones, Meredith Baxter-Birney also for Family, Ellen Corby for The Waltons and Jacqueline Tong for Upstairs, Downstairs. Kristy gave a short but very emotional acceptance speech thanking her mother as well as the producers and her fellow actors on the show. This day also happened to be Kristy's 15th birthday and her award must have made for a truly special one!

Buying note: This show has never been available on commercial home video. But there are other sources for this as well as many other Kristy McNichol appearances that you might be looking for.
