E! True Hollywood Story: Kristy McNichol originally aired Sunday, March 21st 1999.

Since 1996 the E! Entertainment Network's True Hollywood Story has been revealing the behind the scenes stories from the world of entertainment, the untold stories about the stars and programs that many never knew. Using both archival footage and in many cases interviews with the actual people involved the E! True Hollywood Story has strived to tell the whole story behind the glossy Hollywood headlines.

This episode features the life story and career of 70s child star Kristy McNichol from her humble beginnings thru her years as a teen superstar, the personal hardships of her young adulthood, her much welcomed comeback to network television and finally her self-imposed retirement in the late 1990s. Kristy did not participate in the making of this episode but there are numerous clips used from previous interviews that she had given for programs including the E! Network. Many of Kristy's friends, fellow actors, former managers, producers and directors were also interviewed for this program. Some of the people featured in this episode include Leif Garrett, Christopher Atkins, Aaron Spelling, Vincent Van Patten and Kristy's brother James.

This is a very well done and interesting episode of this program which features many rare (and some never before seen) interviews, photos and behind the scenes appearances of Kristy McNichol, definitely a must see for any of her fans.
