Summer of My German Soldier (1978) - 9.4 Stars
Poignant and unforgettable coming-of-age drama that is a career highpoint for everyone involved. If you could only see one Kristy McNichol role this would be it, this is Kristy in the performance of a lifetime.
Little Darlings (1980) - 9.1 Stars
A seemingly standard teen sex comedy that is anything but standard thanks to Kristy's brilliant and heartfelt performance, required viewing if only to see Ms. McNichol in one of her finest moments.
Only When I Laugh (1981) - 9.1 Stars
Neil Simon's inspiring and uplifting drama about love, friendship and starting over again. One of his better films that highlights the talents of all involved, including Kristy in a Golden Globe® nominated supporting role.
White Dog (1982) - 9.0 Stars
Director Samuel Fuller's controversial and rarely seen story on the nature of racism. A powerful film that even now twenty five years later still evokes strong reactions and emotions from viewers.
The End (1978) - 9.0 Stars
Burt Reynolds masterpiece in black comedy that makes death the butt of the joke, one of his most entertaining and memorable films. Kristy has a small but pivotal supporting role.
The Pinballs (1977) - 8.9 Stars
A wonderful cast, script and an exceptional performance by Kristy highlight this inspiring short movie that despite being a "children's film" has the ability to touch viewers of all ages.
Dream Lover (1986) - 8.8 Stars
Kristy's incredible performance in this, probably the most unique role of her entire career, is the high point of this intense psychological thriller. One of Kristy's most underrated and unforgettable performances.
Just the Way You Are (1984) - 8.7 Stars
Endearing romantic romp that overwhelms the viewing audience with the many funny, romantic and charming moments contained within. You'll have no choice but to love this film, unless you have no soul.
The Pirate Movie (1982) - 8.5 Stars
Ridiculous and infantile musical comedy that is surprisingly entertaining if you get the joke, if not, no amount of viewing will likely make it any funnier for you. Either you get it or you don't.
The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia (1981) - 8.2 Star
Very cute little musical/comedy with many funny moments and a lot of lost potential, mostly lost by the producers of this film who squander it with their need to put in "drama" where it isn't really necessary.
Blinded By the Light (1980) - 8.2 Stars
Clichéd television melodrama that still manages to entertain mostly thanks to a memorable and moving performance from Kristy, which keeps this film from sinking completely into tv mediocrity.
Love, Mary (1985) - 8.0 Stars
The inspirational semi-autobiographical story of Dr. Mary Groda-Lewis that illustrates that sometimes a strong message can even overcome flawed story telling.
Me & Dad's New Wife (1976) - 7.8 Stars
Standard adolescent melodrama that is significantly improved by a very strong lead performance from Kristy. Though still early in her career it's quite easy to see in this role a young actress with much potential.
Children of the Bride (1990) - 7.7 Stars
The first in the series of "Bride" comedies about the dysfunctional Becker family. Rue McClanahan and Kristy McNichol co-star in this cute comedy that showcases the comic abilities of all involved.
The Love Boat II (1977) - 7.6 Stars
Second pilot film for the much loved television series. Watch the all-star 1970s cast, including Kristy, parade through and chew the scenery in this silly and frivolous comedy romp.
Women of Valor (1986) - 7.5 Stars
A war film with a different perspective, through an accumulation of varied experiences of female veterans this film aptly communicates the horrors that they endured. Kristy gives a strong performance in a non-typical role.
The Forgotten One (1990) - 7.4 Stars
Atmospheric supernatural thriller that most definitely has some chilling moments. This production makes the most of its limited budget to bring us this out of the ordinary ghost tale.
Baby of the Bride (1991) - 7.4 Stars
The second in the "Bride" series of made for tv comedies. This sequel has lost some of the sharp edge of the original but still has many funny and endearing moments, and of course Kristy has her fair share.
You Can't Hurry Love (1988) - 7.3 Stars
Cute but thoroughly predictable romantic comedy that is only saved by the numerous memorable and humorous scenes involving various "name" guest stars, including a short and funny cameo by Kristy.
Mother of the Bride (1993) - 7.1 Stars
The third in the "Bride" series of made for tv comedies. By now the "new" had been worn off and this idea was getting old quick, even so it is funny at times and still manages to inspire some laughs.
Like Mom, Like Me (1978) - 7.0 Stars
Bland made for television melodrama only made viewable by the above average efforts of both Kristy and Linda Lavin. Unfortunately not enough to raise this production out of the mire that someone dared call a script.
My Old Man (1979) - 6.8 Stars
The very definition of the phrase "mediocre made for tv movie", watch the cast sleepwalk through this production while you count the minutes until it ends. Not Kristy's finest effort - only for the most dedicated fan.
Two Moon Junction (1988) - 6.0 Stars
Zalman King's soft-core epic is convoluted, tedious and not hardly worth the substantial effort required to sit through it. Kristy's worst film and worst performance both conveniently packaged in one awful movie.
